David Butala
Co- founder & Chairman Board of Directors
Born in Namisindwa District, nestled on the slopes of Mt. Elgon in eastern Uganda, David is a passionate educator, and community builder whose life and work are guided by faith and purpose.
Rooted in his early experiences growing up and schooling in Namisindwa, David developed a deep conviction that true education goes beyond academics — it nurtures the heart, shapes character, and prepares citizens to serve God and others.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Makerere University and later a Master of Education in School Administration and Supervision from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. Over the years, he has served as an Assistant Head Teacher, and High School Principal, leading with humility, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.
Now living in the United States with his family, David as an educator in Virginia continues to live out his calling — empowering learners, strengthening communities, and building institutions anchored in Moral values, shared leadership, and a shared vision. He believes that when people work together in unity, they can transform lives and bring lasting impact to the world.
Mary Wolwa Simensen
Board Member & Chairperson Governance
Mary is an accomplished professional with over ten years of experience in management and administration, currently based in Central Uganda. She holds a Master’s Degree in Management Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration and Management, demonstrating a strong academic and professional grounding in organizational leadership and governance.
Mary is deeply committed to social impact and community development. She is the Co-founder of Forever Sisters, a prison rehabilitation initiative focused on the empowerment and reintegration of incarcerated women. Through this work, she plays a pivotal role in supporting vulnerable populations and fostering pathways to dignity, restoration, and societal inclusion.
In addition to her professional and philanthropic endeavors, Mary is a person of deep faith. She is a devoted Christian who places great value on her relationship with God, her family, and the natural environment.
Stella M. Butala
Co-founder, Member Board of Directors
Stella Butala brings over 16 years of rich experience working with children and families across diverse settings—including churches, schools, family life programs, and research initiatives. Her passion for nurturing young lives and building strong family foundations is at the heart of her work.
Raised in Kampala, Uganda, Stella draws deep inspiration from her parents, who were themselves raised in the rural districts of Manafwa and Bududa in eastern Uganda. They believed that providing their children with a quality education and a decent life was the greatest investment—an ideal Stella continues to cherish.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Community Psychology from Makerere University and a Master of Arts in Ministry from LBC Capital Seminary and Graduate School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Stella values education marked by excellence and attributes her personal and professional growth to her Christian faith, strong family bonds, and the support of her community.
With a heart for transformation, Stella is passionate about seeing individuals and communities thrive—even amid brokenness. In her downtime, she enjoys restful moments and is particularly drawn to work related to foundation development and building strong, sustainable organizations.
Mr. Fred Masaba
Member Board of Directors - Finance committee
Mr. Masaba is a seasoned business development expert with extensive leadership experience in both the UK and Uganda. He brings a strong background in strategic and master planning, coupled with a deep understanding of management best practices. His professional approach emphasizes innovation, teamwork, and a strong customer focus.
He holds an MBA and a Postgraduate Diploma from the London School of Management, UK. His MBA dissertation focused on the role of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Uganda’s economic development, reflecting his interest in global economic dynamics and national growth strategies.
Mr. Masaba has held several senior roles across prominent organizations. He served as a Board Director at ROTOM, was the Business Development Manager at Mildmay Uganda, and held the position of Business Manager at Mulago National Referral Hospital. Internationally, he gained valuable experience with The Salvation Army Social Services and Beaver Property Management in London.
His cross-cultural and cross-sector experience makes him a versatile leader, capable of driving growth and innovation in complex environments.
Rebecca Namirembe Mukalere
Member Board of Directors- Chairperson Programs
Rebecca is an experienced educationist with a strong background in teaching, leadership, and community engagement. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education (BA/Ed.) and a Master of Education in Management (M.Ed. Management). With over 17 years of experience teaching literature, she has held several leadership roles in the education sector.
Currently, Rebecca serves as the Managing Director of St. Mark Educational Centre, where she oversees strategic planning, academic excellence, and institutional development. Her passion for education extends beyond the classroom—she is actively involved in the construction and development of a new school, aimed at expanding access to quality education.
Rebecca is also deeply rooted in her faith and community. She is a worship leader and member of the Anglican Youth Fellowship (AYF) choir, ministering both locally and internationally. Her leadership extends to church governance, having previously served as Chairperson and now a member of the School Management Committee at Agape Baptist Church.
Committed to social impact, Rebecca is especially passionate about empowering the girl child and mentoring women through Bible study fellowships. Her holistic approach to leadership—combining education, faith, and community service—continues to inspire those around her.
Watasa Robert Mayoka
Member Board of Directors- Finance
Robert is a native of Namisindwa district and currently resides in Mbale town. He is a member of Certified Public Accountants (CPAU) of Uganda, Certified Public Accounts of Kenya (CPAK). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce-B. COM from Makerere University and a Post-graduate diploma in financial management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI).
He is a member of the technical planning committee Mbale Municipal council. Robert is a dedicated person who enjoys meeting new people and supporting community programs whenever need arises.
Mr. Jackson Nambale
Board Member, Programs Committee
Mr. Jackson Nambale is a senior educationist and devoted born-again Christian, residing in Namisindwa District, Uganda. He brings a wealth of experience in both educational administration and classroom teaching, particularly in the subject of Mathematics within the public school system.
Jackson previously served as the Chairman of the School Management Committee (SMC) at Matuwa Junior School (MJS), where he played a key role in promoting academic excellence and school governance. He currently serves as the Chairperson of the Church Partnership Committee at Mufutu Child Development Center (CDC), where he continues to foster collaboration between faith-based institutions and child development initiatives.
Deeply passionate about youth mentorship and spiritual growth, Mr. Jackson is actively involved in Bible study groups and community outreach programs. He is a strong advocate for child protection rights, viewing them as a critical foundation for sustainable community empowerment.

Samuel oversees the impactful initiatives that empower communities. His work is driven by the needs of the people, and remains committed to fostering sustainable development through education, clean water access, health and community development support. Mr. Ivan Wanda
Board Member HR & Admin
Ivan is based in Entebbe, seasoned and experienced pastor, mentor and leadership coach in Theology and Leadership. He holds a Ph.D. in leadership, Master of theology and BA. Arts in Theology from North-West University in South Africa. He also has training in secondary education and several professional leadership certificates.
Ivan enjoys offering spiritual guidance, mentoring and coaching individuals and organizations. He is married to Annett and together have five children, Ivan speaks Lumasaba, English, Luganda and Kiswahili.
Mr. Titus Tumusiime Gerald
Executive Director (ED)
Titus a seasoned leader, a humanitarian and development professional with over 18 years of experience in leadership, program management, and child rights programming across both development and humanitarian contexts. His technical expertise spans Protection, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH, Gender, and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). He specializes in program design, the Rights-Based Approach to Programming, youth and women empowerment initiatives, monitoring and evaluation, and high-quality report writing. Known for exceptional communication skills, he excels in fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders. He is deeply passionate about community transformation, leadership development, empowering vulnerable communities, and advancing social justice. He is committed to drive impactful change and create sustainable solutions that improve lives and build resilient societies.He has previously worked with LM International in Sudan, Erikshjalpen (in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and South Sudan), ChildFund in Uganda, Save the Children in Uganda and Action for Children in Uganda, rising from a volunteer position, to a Country Director position.
